Our story, told by our founder Jayde Edgren.

Rookinis started with a 30-year-old sewing machine on my parents’ living room table. But the truth is, it existed long before I ever learned how to sew.

When I was in 10 years old, some of my friends and classmates started to wear bikinis. I was so captivated by the bright colours, and all the shapes and styles a bikini could come in. I'd even ask them if I could go to their house after school to try them on lol. It really was love at first sight.

But my friends developed a lot faster than I did. And I remember wondering if one day, I ever would develop too. News flash, I still have a small chest, but I'm glad I do.

 I started practicing on my mom’s 30-year-old sewing machine with fabric scraps I cut out of an old h&m bodysuit because I wanted a bikini that fit me. And since learning how to sew I have hand sewn approximately 800 bikinis in the last year. Now we have scaled rookinis with manufacturers, and my back hurts much less.

Rookinis has grown into something so much bigger than I ever thought. 

To you who is reading this, they say that things like this only happen in peoples dreams, but it happened to me. You are the reason I can chase my dreams, and I hope you jump and chase them too.

I wanted to share Rookinis with you because women shouldn’t have to shop in the kids section to find bikinis that fit their bodies. Every woman deserves to feel sexy in a bikini regardless of the shape of their body.
